RE: Tensile properties of HDPE

I wonder if the minimum tensile yield strength for the different material thickness published in GRI-GM13 is based on the average thickness of the material or is it based on the minimum thickness of the material since thickness of the material influences the tensile yield strength?

Reply: Remember that you will always have to decide on what percentages for shear and peel. The old values… were 90% for shear and 62% for peel. In our seam spec we reduced them somewhat. Also, almost always our calculations are based on nominal values.
