On Nov. 7, 2017, the Geosynthetic Materials Association (GMA) and the Fabricated Geomembrane Institute (FGI) hosted a webinar entitled “Fabrication, Installation, and Testing of Geomembranes.” Dr. Timothy Stark of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, who is also FGI’s technical director, presented the webinar, and GMA Executive Council member Andy Durham of Owens Corning moderated.
On Feb. 27, 2018, GMA and FGI launched a two-part webinar series titled “Stability of Geosynthetic Lined Slopes,” also presented by Stark. He used case histories to illustrate common field conditions that can result in slope instability and the conditions that should be evaluated during design. Part 2 will be held in mid-June.
On average, these webinars draw 100 registrants, and they are a wonderful way for industry groups to collaborate and reach a broad audience. GMA is committed to creating an open platform to share content with our members and the geosynthetic community at large. If you are interested in cohosting with GMA, contact GMA’s webinar leader, Janelle Wells, at jawells@ifai.com, to discuss.
