2012 Geosynthetics Middle East is Nov. 19-20 in Abu Dhabi

Technical papers deadline is Aug. 20

The 5th International Geosynthetics Middle East conference
is titled “The vision of green cities—Opportunities for today and tomorrow.”

The annual conference, organized by SKZ Germany and
under the patronage of the municipality of host Abu Dhabi City, is Nov. 19-20.

The official Call for Papers deadline is Aug. 20. Papers featured for the technical presentations should cover the following
themes: case studies, new materials, new design concepts, installation, quality control, performance and life cycle prediction,
maintenance-repair-rehabilitation, failure lessons learned, specifications, and construction quality assurance.

Organizers noted that with a main focus on transportation infrastructure and greening solutions, this event will provide a
platform for international geotechnical and environmental professionals to exchange knowledge and experiences. Industry
experts will present applications and case studies on: pavement, rail tracks, road construction, airports, railway stations, dams,
canals, reservoirs, coastlines, seaports, and waterways, as well as green gardens, green walls, and green roofs.
