Eljen Corp. nominated for ‘Coolest Thing Made in Connecticut’

Eljen Corporation’s Geotextile Sand Filter is in the running for the 2026 “Coolest Thing Made in Connecticut” competition.

The contest, sponsored by CBIA, is recognizing 16 products made in Connecticut in a single-elimination, bracket-style competition. Manufactured in Windsor since 1982, the Eljen Geotextile Sand Filter is an advanced wastewater treatment system that uses natural biological processes and gravity flow rather than electricity or chemicals.

The filter is competing against Medtronic’s Hugo Robotic-Assisted Surgery System. Voting starts August 20 and the winners will be announced October 1 at the Made in Connecticut: Manufacturing Summit.
