The Advanced Textiles Association’s Leadership Development Committee met on June 30, 2026, to review applications received as a result of this year’s Call for ATA Board of Director Candidates. Four candidates are being recommended by the committee for positions that will become available in November:
Director / Three-year term
- Glenn Aust, Ehmke Manufacturing Co., Philadelphia, Penn.
- John Henderson, P.E., Tensar, a Division of CMC, Alpharetta, Ga.
- Bret Kelley, Trivantage LLC, Burlington, N.C.
- John Tavano, Miami Corporation, Cincinnati, Ohio
The committee thoughtfully reviewed the qualifications of all candidates who applied for these positions. The goal of the committee was to select individuals who could represent the entire membership at large as well as have some familiarity with policy governance models and experience with association and/or business management issues.
An opportunity is available, however, through the ATA Bylaws for additional candidates (independent nominations) to be considered by the membership. Independent nominations must be submitted in writing, addressed to ATA President Steve Schiffman, and received at ATA headquarters in Roseville, Minn., no later than the close of the business day on August 27, 2026. The letter must be accompanied by a petition / letter of support signed by at least fifty (50) members in good standing from the General (voting) membership category.
If any independent candidates are proposed and meet the qualifications, an electronic ballot will then be sent out on or around August 30, 2026, to all voting members for consideration.
