GAI Consultants’ chairman and CEO Gary M. DeJidas, PE, MBA, has been named to the Geoprofessional Business Association’s (GBA) Council of Fellows.
DeJidas began his engineering career in 1972 at the Pittsburgh office of GAI Consultants. In 1982, the firm selected him to open its first office outside of western Pennsylvania in Orlando, Fla. Starting with six employees, he built the GAI subsidiary into a 125-employee operation. In 2003, the GAI subsidiaries were consolidated into one company and he was elected president and CEO.
Today, DeJidas oversees the growth and strategic development of the 800-person, multi-disciplinary firm with staff in 25 offices across 12 states. He has also served as chairperson/director of Terra Insurance Group, an insurance provider to the architecture and engineering industries and member of the SunTrust Bank (Truist) advisory board and was a trustee to Point Park University, his alma mater.
“I am honored and humbled to be named to the GBA Council of Fellows alongside a successful group of long-term industry leaders,” says DeJidas. “GAI Consultants has been a proud member of the Geoprofessional Business Association for more than 40 years and we value the professional support and insight the organization brings to GAI.”
In May, DeJidas celebrated 50 years of continuous service with the company. “I have enjoyed spending my entire professional career at GAI and experiencing the many challenges and successes we have had over the years,” DeJidas added. “This is a great company with a lot of wonderful employees that work together to make GAI a very special place.”
