The Third International Course on Geotechnical and Structural Monitoring will be held June 7–9, 2016, in Poppi, Tuscany, Italy.
The purpose of this course, conducted annually in Italy, is designed to guide participants on how to plan and execute effective geotechnical and structural monitoring programs. The course is directed by John Dunnicliff, with a focus on:
- Basic concepts on monitoring and planning
- Contact monitoring methods
- Remote monitoring methods
- Vibration monitoring
- Offshore monitoring
- Analysis and interpretation of data
The course is intended for project managers and decision-makers, geotechnical and structural engineers, end users, consultants, service providers, manufacturers, and researchers working in:
- Large infrastructures
- Transportation
- Mining
- Oil and gas
- Land and water management
- Sensor and equipment manufacturers
In addition to the lessons, workshops, and presentations given by participants and partners, an optional field trip on June 10 will be conducted at a large landslide site.
