Houston-based GSE announced in an Aug. 24 press release that Mark Leigh has joined the company as president of the Americas.
The release said that the addition of Leigh completes a strategic reorganization and realignment of each of GSE’s global regions that began last year with the appointments of Paul Firrell as president of Europe, Middle East, and Africa; and Peter McCourt as president of Asia-Pacific.
The release noted that Leigh brings a 30-year career with more than 10 years of profit-and-loss (P&L) leadership experience within the manufacturing industry.
In his role at GSE, Leigh “will have full P&L responsibility for GSE’s financial and operational performance across the Americas,” according to the release.
Prior to joining GSE, Leigh was senior vice president for the Americas for Orion Engineered Carbons S.A. Orion is a public company listed on the NYSE. It is the third-largest producer of carbon black globally, supplying the largest tire and rubber customers, as well as plastics, printing ink, coatings, and a variety of specialty applications. The press release said that prior to Orion, Leigh held several VP positions in operations, marketing, and sales.
