Bernardi joins Strata as director of engineering

Cumming, Ga.-based Strata Systems Inc. announced in a June 11 press release that it has hired Michael Bernardi as its new director of engineering.

The release noted that Bernardi has more than 30 years of soil reinforcement experience and has been “at the center of the mechanically stabilized earth structures industry since its beginnings.”

Bernardi was previously technical manager/engineered structures at TenCate Geosynthetics Americas.

Bernardi has contributed to industry design manuals including serving as the primary technical editor for the 3rd Edition of the National Concrete Masonry Association’s Design Manual for Segmental Retaining Walls. He is currently on the Board of Directors of the North American Geosynthetics Society and is also chair of ASTM D35 Subcommittee on Connection Testing.

The press release said that Bernardi will lead the technical team at Strata USA as well as participating in technical leadership at Strata India and Geo Solucoes (Strata Brazil).
