Houston-based GSE Holding Inc. (GSE) announced in a Nov. 4 press release that Charles A. Sorrentino has been appointed the company’s president and CEO, effective immediately.

Sorrentino has served as a GSE board member and interim president/CEO since July 1. He was previously president and CEO at Houston Wire & Cable, a NASDAQ company, from 2006 until his retirement in 2011.

The press release also said that Daniel Storey has been named GSE’s senior vice president and chief financial officer. Storey had served as GSE’s vice president–chief accounting officer and corporate controller since May. Prior to joining GSE, Storey was in senior management positions at Hewlett Packard’s global accounting network. Storey replaces Michael Kirksey who has accepted a new position with another company. The release said that Kirksey will transition his current CFO responsibilities at GSE through the end of the year.

“I am excited about the opportunity to lead such a fine organization as GSE,” Sorrentino said. “During the last few months our management team began a number of new initiatives that are just now beginning to impact our business. It’s great that I will now be in a position to experience the success of these initiatives.”

GSE is a global manufacturer and marketer of geosynthetic lining products and services used in the containment and management of solids, liquids, and gases for waste management, mining, water, wastewater, and aquaculture.
