Geosynthetic clay liners (GCL) have been used for many years as a natural sealing option for groundwater protection, contaminated site remediation, landfill construction, hydraulic engineering, and road construction applications.
Germany-based geosynthetics manufacturer, Huesker Synthetic, has now introduced a new industrially manufactured bentonite sealing system, Tektoseal.
In a July 8 press release, the company described Tektoseal as “a further intelligent composite liner, which boasts an improved internal angle of friction, increased shear strength, and optimized outer friction properties.” The components include “a high-tensile base, internal sealing material consisting of granulated sodium bentonite and a nonwoven as the top layer.”
The release noted “the extremely thin construction (< 10mm)” that produces little dust and has an optimum roll width of more than 5m.
The Huesker Group is a global manufacturer of geosynthetic materials, and agricultural and industrial textiles. The company’s corporate head office is in Gescher, Westphalia, Germany. The company also has subsidiaries in Great Britain, Spain, Italy, France, the U.S., and Brazil.
