RE: Question about AOS
Can you help telling me how to calculate the apparent opening size (AOS) of a nonwoven geotextile if I have permittivity, permeability, flow rate, and thickness? Is it possible to do?

Reply: What a great question but, unfortunately, the answer is “No.” The reason is that AOS is an empirical value that can only be assessed in light of the test method itself. You could get a average density (with the mass and specific gravity of the fibers) but this does not give you O95 or other opening size value. Sorry.
