Raven Industries’ Engineered Films Division (EFD)—manufacturer of geomembrane liners and covers—announced last week the opening of its new Technology Solutions Center at the company’s Sioux Falls, S.D. headquarters.
In a Sept. 14 press release, Raven said the technology center “will provide full-spectrum product development through research, analysis, processing, and optimization of new product formulations.
“Raven is committed to designing innovative engineered plastic film and sheeting that offers exceptional performance and value,” the release said.
The Technology Solutions Center houses two pilot extrusion lines. The first is a nine-layer, blown-film and sheeting line, capable of producing multi-layer products including engineered barrier layers. The second is a cast/coating line producing pre-formed scrims or fabric substrates.
“By creating the Technology Solutions Center we have substantially invested in future product innovation and are fully committed in research and development to assure continuous advancements in polymer film and sheeting solutions,” said Jim Groninger, Raven EFD vice president and general manager.
