Geosynthetics has received two more magazine awards, both announced late last year.
The bimonthly magazine formerly known as GFR won the first-place Gold Award in Association Trends 2007 All-Media Contest in the Scholarly/Technical/Scientific category, announced in December. Geosynthetics also was cited by the Minnesota Magazine and Publications Association (MMPA) with a third-place Bronze Award in the Best Technical Article category, announced last November.
The Association Trends contest is an annual event held exclusively for associations. (Geosynthetics is one of seven magazines published by the Industrial Fabrics Association International, based in the Twin Cities suburb of Roseville, Minn.). The 2007 Association Trends competition included more than 400 overall entries in 25 different categories.
In the 2007 MMPA awards, Geosynthetics was recognized for its photo-article that chronicled the use of geotextile tubes in the PCB cleanup project at the Fox River in northeast Wisconsin (August/September 2006, Vol. 24, No. 4).
