SKAPS Industries of Athens, Ga., completed an agreement on May 1, 2018, to acquire Matrix Composites of Henderson, Ky., and Seguin, Texas. The acquisition includes all Matrix Composites technologies, operations and assets, SKAPS said.

Matrix Composites, Inc. was started in 1996 in Henderson to produce woven fiberglass fabrics, SKAPS said. Under the ownership of Don Hudson, Matrix expanded with a second factory in Seguin, which was built in 2002. The second factory allowed Matrix to produce woven and nonwoven fabrics in two different states.

SKAPS Industries was founded by Perry Vyas in 1996, SKAPS said. SKAPS fabricates geosynthetic and nonwoven drainage products for environmental and civil use in the U.S. and abroad. With production facilities in three countries (U.S., India and Brazil) and seven factories, SKAPS serves markets in more than 60 countries.

SKAPS said, the acquisition of Matrix provides the SKAPS Fiberglass Division with a global position and platform to expand in North and South America. The acquisition is SKAPS Industries first in North America.
