Geotextile question

We have a geotextile AOS requirement of 0.15mm for which we have recommended a 10-ounce geotextile to our client. Because our client has an abundance of 8-ounce geotextile on-site, he would prefer to make use of it in place of the recommended 10-ounce. My question to you is this: Can two layers of 8-ounce geotextile be used as a substitute for one 10-ounce geotextile in terms of performance?

If the 8-osy materials meet the AOS and permittivity criteria, then two 8-osy GTs will surely meet the strength requirements of a 10-osy. Also, I am assuming that there are no interface friction issues with the two GTs back-to-back. If that’s the case, I would go ahead.
