Geotechnical Frontiers beyond paper submission

Geotechnical Frontiers Watch | April 1, 2024 | By: Barbara J. Connett

Abstract submission is closed and reviews are in process, but that isn’t the end of your opportunities to contribute to the technical program. This is the time to submit your ideas for short courses and special sessions and to step up to the plate to serve as a presenter, reviewer or session chair.

Become a short course instructor

Half- and full-day classes are needed. Share your in-depth knowledge with a class of eager students. Submit your proposal online by May 10 at GeotechnicalFrontiers.com/shortcourses. Full details of requirements and benefits of being a short course instructor are available online.

Organize a special session

Have a great idea for a panel discussion, training lecture or something out of the box? We want to hear all about it. Submit your proposals online by May 10 at GeotechnicalFrontiers.com/specialsessions

Take the spotlight in a Geo-PIT talk

Geo-PITs are 12-minute presentations on the plenary stage. Styled after TED talks, the topics range from the serious to the entertaining. Do you have what it takes to be one of the handful selected for this unique opportunity? Submissions are by due May 10 at GeotechnicalFrontirers.com/Geo-PIT.

Volunteer as a session chair or reviewer

Looking for something a little different? We are always looking for session chairs (organize your session during the lead-up to the event as well as running the session on-site) and reviewers (read the papers on a given topic with a critical eye and offer helpful feedback for the authors). If either, or both, of those options sounds enticing, reach out to us at Barbara.connett@textiles.org

Book your booth and sponsor

Take advantage of this unique opportunity to exhibit at Geotechnical Frontiers and reach both the GeoCongress and Geosynthetics Conference audiences at one time. A chance like this won’t come again for another six years, and booth selection is open now. For more details on exhibiting or sponsoring, contact Amy.collins@textiles.org or visit GeotechnicalFrontiers.com/exhibit
