As we continue to deal with the implications of the pandemic, the Geosynthetic Materials Association (GMA) is making every effort to maintain our influence with federal and state governments to position our industry for success. We have been successful in connecting virtually with individual congressional members during these “shelter-in” months. With this success we are moving forward with our 2021 Fall Lobby Day fly-in.

This fall’s Lobby Day will take place in Washington, D.C. Due to today’s fluid nature of visitations, Whitmer & Worrall will be setting up three styles of meeting options:

  1. Congressional office visitd: Unlike in years past where we could walk the halls of Congress and visit offices with unlimited attendees, the offices that are open to visits are limiting the numbers, so depending on the specifics of the office, we will be assigning attendees.
  2. Reception/lunch invitations: We will be inviting members of Congress to join us at Sonoma Restaurant & Wine Bar during an extended reception/lunch. The setting will allow for members to address our whole group as well as provide areas for more direct conversations.
  3. Virtual visits: Our base will be at the conference room in the Whitmer & Worrall offices at 1401 H St. NW. Several of the congressional offices are maintaining virtual-only meetings, and for those meetings, we will have the conference room set up to allow multiple meetings to occur simultaneously.
