HUESKER has announced the acquisition of Italian technology leader Sineco International. With this acquisition, HUESKER now offers its own high-end drainage and dewatering products. This strengthens its market position as the quality and technology leader for geosynthetic applications.
The focus is primarily on innovative and high-performance drainage and erosion control products. With the integration of Sineco into the HUESKER Group, the company’s own product portfolio will be specifically expanded in this direction. “This is a product area in which we see considerable future potential – particularly with regard to market trends such as water transport and storage as well as various applications in the environmental protection sector,” said HUESKER CEO Dr. F.-Hans Grandin. “From now on, we will be able to offer our customers even more comprehensive, tailor-made, complete solutions for a wide range of applications.”
Sineco is an innovator in the development and production of high-quality geocomposites and benefits particularly from its founder’s over 40 years of experience. The company operates a modern production site and its own research and development center near Milan, Italy. Based on innovative 3D thermoplastic monofilament technology, Sineco manufactures unique products for drainage, erosion control, soil stabilization, aeration, and noise control.
For HUESKER, the acquisition not only expands the existing product portfolio, but also represents the acquisition of a new production technology. Modern thermoplastic monofilament technology enables the production of three-dimensional structures with different surface finishes and a void index of up to 99 percent. “Offering high-end solutions in all areas of its business is in the DNA of the HUESKER Group,” Grandin added. “As a technology leader in the manufacture of drainage mats and erosion control products and as a continuous innovator, Sineco is therefore a perfect fit for HUESKER. In recent years, the company’s founder and previous owner, Andrea Siniscalco, has been systematically preparing the company for its next growth phase. “We wanted to hand over Sineco to a strategic investor whose market position would enable them to support the next steps of growth,” Siniscalco said. “What was particularly important to us was a long-term perspective under the umbrella of a traditional, innovative, and financially strong company that simultaneously embodies medium-sized and down-to-earth values.”
Sineco will continue to operate as a subsidiary of the HUESKER Group. Company founder Andrea Siniscalco, his son Alberto Siniscalco, and Stefan Heisterkamp, head of finance at HUESKER Synthetic, will jointly manage the company. The company will remain operationally independent. The product portfolio, the production site, and all existing jobs will be retained. HUESKER will contribute its experience and expertise in key functions, as well as its global sales strength.
