Seven-Layer EVOH-Based Liner

Megaplast USA Inc.

Primary applications for this barrier geomembrane with an EVOH core for 0% permeability are landfill caps, vapor barriers in building construction, and floating covers. Other features include stronger tensile properties through changes in the chemical composition of the geomembrane, yield elongations that are double of standard GM13 allowing for fabrication of longer based products where the films are under constant duress, reduced expansion/contraction in the field, and a more consistent nitrogen texture with better control in asperity height translating to a more consistent friction in the field with the subgrade/geosynthetic clay liner composites.

Bentofix X

Naue GmbH & Co. KG

Bentofix X are multicomponent geosynthetic clay liners (GCL). Two durable geotextile outer layers are combined with a uniform core of high-swelling powder sodium bentonite clay, with an additional polyethylene extrusion-coated barrier. Bentofix X sealing applications are landfill caps, closures and bases; environmental protection under roads, railways and airports; dams and dykes; water containment and ponds; structural waterproofing; secondary containment; mining and tunnels. Versatile sealing applications are possible. Immediate sealing and long-term performance will be realized. Polyethylene (PE) coating gives add-on values (improved fluid barrier, desiccation resistance and root barrier, as well as protection against ionic exchange and piping). Direct coverage with concrete and lime is possible. With Bentofix X, self-sealing length overlaps are available. Quick, easy and cost-efficient installation is achieved.

Triaxial Geogrids

L.E. Geosolutions LLC

Triaxial geogrids were first introduced just over 15 years ago and until very recently, sold exclusively, under patent protection, by a single manufacturer. LEgeosolutions LLC, the exclusive distribution partner for TMP America Inc., is the first new company to provide availability for triaxial geogrids in the U.S. market. The products are most commonly used to provide tensile strength to the unbound aggregate layers in flexible pavements and unpaved roads/working platforms. Triaxial geogrids are able to reduce the amount of aggregate/asphalt required or increase the structure’s design life. Products provided by L.E. Geosolutions are accompanied with access to the company’s free-of-charge design services for a full range of conventional and heavy-duty road, rail and port structures.

HeatGard Geomembrane

Layfield Geosynthetics

HeatGard Geomembrane is versatile and effective for a wide range of applications. Its longevity, toughness and chemical resistance make it ideal for critical containment infrastructure, hot brine containment and as a secondary containment liner underneath heated tanks. Its applications also include process water, tailings and leaching containments; bioreactor landfills; and potable water containment. It can withstand extreme temperatures, making it a preferred geomembrane choice in thermal pit applications. HeatGard is capable of withstanding high-temperature exposure with its bimodal resin technology, making it suitable for continuous use at 85°C (185°F) for more than 20 years, while typical HDPE materials are unsuitable for extended periods above 60°C (140°F). In addition to its high-temperature resistance, it exhibits excellent longevity in harsh environments. It is chlorine-resistant, UV-stable and brine-resistant. HeatGard is available in a wide-format roll, allowing for a fast installation.

Quick-Stairs

IEC Covers

Quick-Stairs are safe, durable and adjustable to variable slopes ranging from 0 to 50 degrees. Typically, this stairway system is installed in an hour with basic hand tools and two laborers. It does not require specialized equipment for installation to the geomembrane liner. Quick-Stairs is movable and does not puncture geomembrane liners. It has perforated safety treads and a handrail, which traditional geomembrane steps do not offer. Primary markets/applications are municipalities using geomembrane-lined ponds for wastewater treatment (aeration, facultative, settling); the petroleum industry using geomembrane in secondary containment basins; the construction industry where trenches, berms or steep inclines exist and safe access/egress is needed; the recreational industry, golf courses, ornamental geomembrane-lined ponds accessible by the public or children; and Department of Transportation rest stops, residential and commercial sites with geomembrane stormwater retention basins.

Geovolt Conductive Composite

Layfield Geosynthetics

Layfield’s Geovolt was specifically developed to address several challenges associated with quality assurance testing of containment facilities. Geovolt provides electrical leak location and detection for ponds, landfills, tank liners and any primary and secondary containment facility. Geovolt also works very well as a substrate for spray-applied polyurea applications, converting a standard polyurea liner into a conductive polyurea liner. Geovolt provides maximum quality assurance, meeting the requirements of ASTM D7852, Standard Practice for Use of an Electrically Conductive Geotextile for Leak Location Surveys. It can be used with almost any type of non-conducting geomembrane, so you will no longer be limited to polyethylene-based geomembranes. There is no need for special welding techniques during the installation process, allowing for a fast and easy installation. It can be sewn, heat-tacked or simply overlapped.

RoRo StretchPack

Tentoma

The RoRo StretchPack is a high-capacity packaging machine that delivers waterproof packaging with strong welds at the roll ends. This design eliminates the need for longitudinal welding along the roll side, resulting in uniformly smooth packaging. Utilizing tubular stretch film, RoRo StretchPack reduces film consumption by 25% to 60%, offering a more sustainable packaging solution. Additionally, an optional core plug applicator is available to further enhance its efficiency. The RoRo StretchPack packaging machinery from Tentoma is gaining popularity for wrapping geosynthetics, geotextiles and similar rolls. This trend is propelled by the demand from geosynthetics producers for fully automatic packaging solutions that increase capacity for large roll packaging without sacrificing packaging quality.

The DrainGreat Co. LLC

The DrainGreat Co. LLC

DrainGreat securely connects to drainboard without the use of duct tape or pins and does not come loose even during shotcrete application. The connection ring is much bigger than the 3-inch (7.6 cm) PVC pipe it drains to, thus increasing the amount of flow that can be handled. DrainGreats are quick and easy to install and are made in the USA. DrainGreats were developed for soil nail walls by a foundation contractor who was looking for a better way to connect a PVC pipe to a drainboard. DrainGreats can also be used in other applications where it is necessary to transfer fluid from drainboard to a pipe.

Draintube Conductive

Afitex-Texel Geosynthetics

Draintube Conductive is a conductive drainage geocomposite consisting of an electrically conductive grid made of stainless-steel cables placed inside a Draintube product. Placed between the two geomembranes, it allows leak detection by geo-electrical methods, protects the geomembrane against puncture, and drains any leakage during operation. Draintube Conductive is used as a leak location layer in double-lined ponds and landfills. It is one geocomposite that provides several functions: mechanical protection, filtration, drainage and leak detection; homogeneous diffusion of electric current under the geomembrane; compatibility with geo-electrical leak location surveys—exposed geomembranes (water puddle, arc test) and covered geomembranes (dipole); easy installation with a single product to unroll; cost-effective and an environmentally friendly solution as it replaces granular layers.
