ASTM International’s soil and rock committee (D18) has presented its A. Ivan Johnson Outstanding Achievement Award to Kurt Kelsey, director of earth science division at American Excelsior Company.

The award is presented in recognition of outstanding and significant contributions to the soil and rock committee, specifically his work on updates to the D18 Procedures Guide, his service as D18 2nd vice chair on their executive committee, and his continued leadership as chair of D18.25 on erosion and sediment control technology.
