ASTM International has presented its top annual award, the Award of Merit, to Melissa Holbrook for her contributions to ASTM’s geosynthetics committee (D35).
The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for distinguished service and outstanding participation in ASTM International committee activities. Holbrook was recognized for her steadfast professionalism, extensive knowledge of geosynthetics, and invaluable guidance of the committee’s efforts.
An ASTM International member since 2002, Holbrook works as the director of quality (Americas) at Solmax, a position she has held since 2023. For over 25 years, her career focus has been quality management within the geosynthetics industry. She received both her bachelor of science (1992) and master of science (1996) degrees in chemistry and analytical chemistry from the University of Georgia.
