Presto Geosystems is reporting cases of counterfeit versions of its ATRA tendon clip appearing in the marketplace, and has issued the following statement about the products:

“It has come to our attention that some customers have recently come across products intended to compete with our patented ATRA® tendon clip geocell load transfer device. Presto has a long history of innovation built on the hard work, creativity, and a commitment of our people to provide customers with innovative solutions. It is through those efforts that we have established an extensive portfolio of active patents around the world. We are currently working with our legal team to address copycat versions of the ATRA® tendon clip, and rest assured, we will continue to protect our intellectual property rights against acts of infringement.

“Know too, that while some of these versions may look like our product, we cannot guarantee the same level of quality, reliability and proven performance as genuine ATRA® products. We therefore strongly encourage anyone considering using, specifying, or distributing competing versions of the ATRA® tendon clip, or any other geocell accessory intended to mimic one of our patented ATRA® accessories, to obtain third‐party test data to ensure the product will meet design/performance requirements, and if necessary, obtain legal or technical advice on the risks to your project.”
