FGI to host webinar on interface shear testing for geocomposites

The Fabricated Geomembrane Institute (FGI) will sponsor a webinar, “Multi-Layer Interface Shear Testing” on April 9, from noon to 1 p.m. CDT.

This webinar will discuss multi-layer interface shear testing for composite liner systems including the pros and cons of multi-layer interface testing compared to single-layer interface testing and best-practices for performing multi-layer interface tests. Finally, the webinar will compare the results of multi-layer and single-layer interface tests to assess the peak and large displacement combination strength envelopes and critical interfaces from these tests for the same composite liner systems.

The webinar’s instructors are Dr. Timothy Stark, a professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Rob Swan, an associate teaching professor in the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering at Drexel University.

Webinars are free for industry professionals and students. Successful completion of a multiple-choice test after the webinar carries 1 professional development hour (PDH).
