East Coast Erosion Control of Bernville, Pennsylvania, announced March 19, 2018, it had been awarded the Innovative Application of Technology award from Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania. East Coast Erosion Control was one of six companies to receive a Northeastern Pennsylvania Innovation Award, which are given to companies “that strongly demonstrate a ‘break-the-mold’ approach to integrating new or existing technology” into their businesses. The awards are given to companies who achieved exceptional business success with the aid of Ben Franklin funding and assistance, have helped others to achieve success or have improved their business through innovation.
East Coast Erosion Control will be formally honored with the award at the Ben Franklin iXchange event, to be held May 22, 2018, at the Zoellner Arts Center at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Utilizing a $75,000 investment from Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania, over three years, East Coast Erosion Control made operational process improvements to enhance customer delivery performance, reduce the cost of goods sold, increase efficiency and maximize production capacities. East Coast Erosion Control is planning an expansion of its physical plant and equipment, yielding an increase in production of 46 percent, the company said.
East Coast Erosion Control is a manufacturer of rolled erosion control products, turf reinforcement mats, sediment retention fiber rolls and high-performance turf reinforcement mats.
