TenCate sand mattress video at Waikiki released

On Dec. 17, 2017, HawaiiNewsNow released a video news report on the installation of a TenCate Geosynthetics sand mattress for erosion control on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Honolulu mayor Kirk Caldwell told reporter Jobeth Devera of HawaiiNewsNow, “The goal here is to see if it works and if It does, to repeat it in other areas. It can last as long as 10 to 20 years, although my hope is to have a permanent solution by then.”
