The Athens, Greece-based Thrace Group announced in an Oct. 28 press release that it has added Steve Lothspeich to its North American staff as director of engineering–geosynthetics.
The release said that Lothspeich will support current and future anticipated growth of Thrace Group geosynthetics in the U.S. marketplace. His previous positions include technical director, and later president, of Charlotte, N.C.-based Huesker Inc. and Huesker Geocomposites.
The press release noted that Lothspeich’s role will encompass geosynthetics/engineering for the Thrace Group member companies, including Summerville S.C.-based Thrace-Linq, Thrace NG, and Lumite. Thrace-Linq is a global manufacturer and supplier of geosynthetic materials. Thrace NG produces polypropylene technical fabrics, yarns, and fibers. Lumite Performance Fabrics Inc., with its U.S. facility in Alto, Ga., is a manufacturer of fabrics that provide barriers to suppress sun, heat, wind, and erosion.
