Busto Arsizio, Italy-based Fiborsin Srl has unveiled its new IRR-L machine, designed and manufactured to satisfy requirements for dimension netting, mainly made of HDPE–MDPE, laminated with nonwoven tissue, on one or two sides; and it can extrude and manufacture open netting as large as 4.7m. Nets produced by the IRR plant are mostly used for fencing, erosion protection, geotextile use, drainage, ground reinforcement, and channel/road foundations.
Fiborsin specializes in manufacturing extruders for the production of plastic net and resealable systems (zips). It concentrates on the manufacturing of extrusion and processing machines for plastic materials. The company is one of the members of Elba group (www.elbagroup.it) composed of three firms—Fiborsin, Elba, and FAE—that design and manufacture machines and components for the converting plastic sector.
The mesh equipment can be used with various plastic granules, such as PELD, PEHD, PP, LDPE, PE, HDPE, LLDPE, and EVA. The products produced can be used in various market sectors: agriculture and food, packaging, construction, and geomembranes.
In 1988, Fiborsin sold its first geonet machine to a U.S. manufacturer. This year (2016), Fiborsin installed its 10th machine for the geonet sector in the U.S.
