At the American Society of Civil Engineer’s Geo-Chicago 2016 conference, there will be back-to-back symposia that will honor two legends in the geosynthetics community—Dr. David E. Daniel and Dr. Robert M. Koerner.
On Monday afternoon, Aug. 15, 2016 from 2–3:30 p.m., the first symposium will honor Daniel for his research achievements with compacted clay liners, amended clay liners, and geosynthetic clay liners. He is currently the deputy chancellor of the University of Texas System.
From 4–5:30 p.m., the second session will honor Koerner, well-known for his research accomplishments in the field of geosynthetics. He is director emeritus of the Geosynthetic Institute.
A reception and buffet dinner for speakers, guests, and friends will follow at 6 p.m.
Registration for this conference will be available in March.
