Geosynthetics veteran named new business director
Fiberweb announced in an Aug. 15 press release its appointment of Ian Fraser as the company’s new business director of geosynthetics.
Fraser has more than 25 years of experience working in the geotechnical industry and has played a visible role in increasing the profile of geotechnical and geosynthetic solutions through his work with the International Geosynthetics Society (IGS), and with the Ground Forum and the Construction Industry Council in the U.K.
The release noted that Fraser joined Fiberweb July 22, having previously worked as vice president of global technology at Tensar and as managing director of TenCate Geosynthetics U.K.
“I’m delighted to have joined Fiberweb, having always respected the company for the quality of its technical solutions, its people, and the strength of brands like Terram, Defencell, and GrassProtecta,” Fraser said. “I am also pleased to have joined so soon after Fiberweb’s acquisition of a controlling interest in Terram India, which sends a clear statement about the company’s ambition.”
The release said that Fraser will work out of Fiberweb’s head office in Richmond, London, U.K. He has also joined Fiberweb’s executive team and will contribute to decision making at the highest level within the company.
Fiberweb CEO Daniel Dayan said: “Ian’s appointment is particularly pleasing as it comes at a time of significant investment in Fiberweb’s geosynthetics division. I am sure his experience will prove invaluable as we expand into new technologies and markets over the coming months.”
