Stormwater association meets at StormCon Aug. 20, prospective members invited

The Stormwater Equipment Manufacturers Association (SWEMA) has announced that its annual meeting during the StormCon conference and exposition is open to prospective members. This breakfast meeting is Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at 7 a.m. in the Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center Hotel. SWEMA members are also available to discuss the association’s programs at its StormCon booth, #205.

“As our organization continues to expand our programs to address the ever-changing stormwater environment, we continue to reach out for new members whose experience will enhance SWEMA’s initiatives,” said Gene LaManna of Terre Hill Stormwater Systems and president of SWEMA. “This breakfast meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss issues relevant to the stormwater industry and give those interested in joining SWEMA an opportunity to see how we operate and participate in topics of importance. We heartily invite prospective members to attend, meet our members, and learn how membership in SWEMA will benefit their business and professional endeavors.”

Founded in 2008, SWEMA members include equipment manufacturing companies, distributors, engineering firms, developers, and governmental agencies. SWEMA’s goal is to provide guidance and resources to those who must research, plan, and implement stormwater solutions. SWEMA includes industry experts who volunteer their time in the development of educational programs and establishing a program of standards, guidelines, and best management practices for stormwater control.

StormCon 2013 is at the Sheraton Convention Center Hotel in Myrtle Beach, S.C., Aug. 18-22, 2013. The full conference schedule runs Aug. 18-22, with the exhibit hall open August 19-21.
