Cal Poly Pomona captures student competition prize at 2013 GeoCongress

News | April 1, 2013 | By:

I’m really proud of this group of students. The competition was really tough this year—especially with the addition of the dynamic loading. Not only did they have a great design, but they came together as a team under the strong leadership of their captain, Petrina Zen. This competition provides an excellent opportunity for students to learn the importance of leadership, management, and effective communication in geotechnical engineering … it’s much more than friction angles and lateral loads.
