Hans Grandin named managing director at Germany-based geosynthetics company
Germany-based Huesker Synthetic GmbH announced in a Nov. 7 press release that Dr.-Ing. F.- Hans Grandin is now managing director.
With Huesker for 10 months, Grandin succeeds Wolfgang Huesker who will devote his full attention to the Advisory Board of the company, according to the release.
Established in 1861, Huesker, headquartered in Gescher, Westphalia, today is a company that develops and manufactures geosynthetic materials, and agricultural and technical textiles for applications used throughout the world.
Born in North Rhine-Westphalia, Grandin obtained his doctorate after studying mechanical engineering at the RWTH Aachen. His initial career milestones in development, product management, sales and marketing took him, among other places, to Brazil and the U.S.
The press release noted Grandin’s experience primarily in medium-sized, family-owned companies. He has worked for more than 10 years as managing director in the field of technical and sophisticated premium products, most recently as president and CEO of Komet of America Inc. in the Chicago area.
Said Grandin: “Now it is time to strengthen [our] market position, to continue the already begun internationalization as well as to explore and develop new business segments-a challenge I am really looking forward to.”
