The International Erosion Control Association (IECA) has opened registration for its annual conference and expo, Environmental Connection 2012 (EC12), Feb. 26-29 in Las Vegas. Interested parties can visit IECA’s website for details on full-day courses, shorter technical sessions, special events, and the exhibit hall.
Education remains the cornerstone of Environmental Connection. Each year, hundreds of industry professionals are educated through the full-day training courses and shorter technical sessions, which consist of case studies, research papers, forums, and workshops. Topics range from vegetation establishment to turbidity control to BMP selection.
Some of the new full-day courses featured at EC12 include: Stream and Riparian Area Investigation, Rehabilitation and Design Workshop with Richard Fischer, Ph.D.; The Reality of Vegetation Establishment for Erosion and Sediment Control with Tom Williams, CPESC; and Newest Best of the BMPs with John McCullah, CPESC.
The expo hall—open Feb. 28-29—will showcase the latest in erosion, sediment control, stormwater products, and technology. EC12 will feature more exclusive expo hall time than ever before, affording attendees enough time to focus on education sessions without sacrificing expo hall time.
IECA will end the conference with a 40th Birthday Bash on Wed., Feb. 29. In honor of IECA’s 40 years of service to the erosion, sediment control, and stormwater quality community, it will be holding a birthday extravaganza complete with food, drinks, entertainment worthy of Las Vegas, and cash prizes. Attendees who purchase a full-conference or Wednesday pass will can enjoy the festivities at no additional cost.
