Samir Badawi, CEO of Gundle/SLT Environmental Inc., Houston, passed away while traveling in Germany on Aug. 5 at the age of 69. Badawi earned a name for himself in the geosynthetics industry by expanding GSE after he was named CEO in 1998. Richard E. Goodrich has been appointed interim CEO by GSE’s Board of Directors until a successor is found.
