Geotextile manufacturer undergoes supervised audit

Georgia-based Crown Resources announced in a press release this week its certificate of compliance achievement from the National Transportation Product Evaluation Program (NTPEP). This compliance document earned in December 2012, underscores Crown’s capabilities to better serve NTPEP and other transportation projects throughout the U.S.

NTPEP is a program under the sponsorship of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO). The NTPEP’s audit for facilities producing geotextiles provides a comprehensive review of the production and testing of geotextiles and of the quality management system. The evaluation starts with a desktop review of the facility’s quality manual and concludes with an on-site review of the facility’s processes and its quality management system documentation.

Crown Resources is a manufacturer of geotextiles at its Toccoa, Ga. production facility, supplying geotextiles for civil engineering applications throughout North America.

To date, five geotextile manufacturers have completed the audit/compliance achievement: Crown Resources, GSE, Propex, TenCate, and Thrace Linq. More certifications are expected in 2013 and those results will be reported here.
