Combigrid geocomposites are geogrids with an integrated nonwoven geotextile component. Combigrid soil reinforcement applications are base and subbase course stabilization and reinforcement, basal reinforcement for embankments, load transfer platforms (LTP) over piles, bridging of mining voids and sinkholes, reinforced foundations, airport runways and graded portions, working platforms, pipe trenches and lagoons/tailings ponds. Combigrid combines reinforcement, stabilization, filtration, separation and drainage in just one product. Immediate interlock with fill material is realized with no construction-related strain. Excellent stress strain behavior (high tensile stiffness) is achieved. High radial stiffness and high cyclic tensile stiffness are reached. It is robust against installation damage and chemical and biological attack. Cost savings due to reduced aggregate thickness are achieved.
