The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Geo-Institute has issued a Call for Abstracts for the Geo-Congress 2023, to be held in Los Angeles, Calif., March 26–29, 2023. The theme for the conference is “Sustainable Infrastructure Solutions from the Ground Up.”

Los Angeles is home to many megaprojects in this country, and participants will get a chance to see and hear about these projects. In addition to the regular variety of presentations on challenging projects and research, Geo-Congress 2023 will feature multiple invited speakers on selected topics highlighting contributions by engineers and academia to address challenging geotechnical issues. The conference will include a wide-range of knowledge-enhancing technical and panel sessions, short courses and workshops. Some of the special topics will include a state-of-the-art lecturer and a state-of-the-practice lecturer. Join us in Los Angeles to share in this celebration of our collective geo-accomplishments.

Special topics for Geo-Congress 2023

  • Sustainable design, equity, and social justice: Environmental, economic and societal aspects of sustainability incorporated into geotechnical engineering
  • Spatially distributed infrastructure: Quantifying regional resilience of roads, bridges, rail, airports, water, power
  • Ports and harbors: Dredging, retention systems, liquefaction, crane facilities, deep foundations
  • Data, remote sensing, and cloud computing: Big data, data analytics, data integration, GIS
  • Virtual/mixed reality: Enhanced methods for visualization and public communication
