The Canadian Geotechnical Society (CGS) in collaboration with the Canadian Permafrost Association (CPA) is inviting industry professionals to GeoManitoba 2025, the 78th Canadian Geotechnical Conference and 9th Canadian Permafrost Conference. The conference will be Sept. 21-24, 2025, at the RBC Convention Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

At this year’s conference, the Wednesday Lunch Session will look at increasing inclusivity in the geoprofessions to maintain and build a strong, thriving profession. As a part of this session, the GeoManitoba Local Organizing Committee is conducting an anonymous survey to collect feedback from conference attendees on their experiences with discrimination and harassment, as well as success stories on workplace inclusivity. The responses will be collated and shared (in a general way) during the Wednesday Lunch Session. In addition, responses may be used to create case studies highlighting a specific issue related to discrimination or harassment, while maintaining confidentiality. (Any specific names or locations will not be included in the case studies.)
