COMANCO, a leading provider of geosynthetic installation services, has nearly completed a multi-year project at a phosphate stack in Mississippi. The project involved the installation of a comprehensive geosynthetic containment system, including a high-performance liner and a durable turf reinforcement layer.
The Water Return Ditches (WRD) component of the project, currently in its final phase, is a critical element of the overall containment system. Once completed, the WRD will effectively capture and contain runoff water from the phosphate stack, minimizing environmental impact and ensuring long-term sustainability.
COMANCO’s expertise in geosynthetic engineering and installation has been instrumental in the successful execution of this project. The company has installed over 4 million square feet of geosynthetic materials, divided evenly between high-quality liners and ClosureTurf® reinforcement layers. Additionally, COMANCO has meticulously groomed over 2 million square feet of sand to create a stable ballast system.
Despite challenging conditions, including hurricanes and extreme heat, COMANCO’s Mississippi crew, led by superintendent Carlos Garcia, has maintained a strong safety record and delivered exceptional results. The company’s commitment to quality, safety, and environmental stewardship has earned the trust of its clients, including repeat customer KEMRON.
This project highlights COMANCO’s ability to handle complex geosynthetic installations and deliver innovative solutions that meet the highest industry standards.
