SOTRAFA certifies production system with Operation Clean Sweep

News | December 4, 2024 | By:

In a world increasingly concerned about environmental problems, companies in the plastics sector are faced with the growing responsibility of minimizing ecological impact. SOTRAFA is taking another step forward in its commitment to sustainability by obtaining the Operation Clean Sweep® (OCS) certification, accredited by AENOR. This certification endorses environmental responsibility and reinforces support for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), marking a milestone within the plastics industry.

The OCS program focuses on implementing the best cleaning and control practices to prevent the loss of pellets, flakes and plastic dust in all handling operations. By doing so, minimizing microplastic pollution in the environment, helping to protect both marine and terrestrial ecosystems.

SOTRAFA is currently the only manufacturer of geomembranes with this certification, which represents a key differentiating element in the market. This certification, which will be subject to internal and external audits, guarantees that the company adopts sustainable practices and adequate control measures, such as containment systems, cleaning procedures, training of employees or improvements in infrastructure, thus reinforcing its contribution to a cleaner and healthier environment.
