Co-hosts The International Erosion Control Association (IECA) and Ecopliant present the webinar – Understanding RUSLE Analysis – on November 21, 2024 at 1 p.m. MT. Attendees will earn 1 PDH credit upon completion of this session and you can register here.
Course Overview
The Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE) is fundamental for construction industry professionals aiming to mitigate erosion and manage sediment. This session will go beyond the basics, helping participants understand the practical implications of RUSLE results on project costs and effectiveness. Led by industry expert Ken Kristoffersen, this session will explore real-world applications, potential equation modifications, and the benefits and limitations of RUSLE2.
The objective of this class is to review and gain an understanding of the RUSLE calculation (Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation, and its impact on sediment and erosion control in the construction industry. Although most designers understand the basic mechanics of RUSLE, they often lack an understanding of the practical implications of the applications results. Much of what is taught does an adequate job of describing the process and mechanics of populating RKLSCP, without actually grasping the potential impact on cost and effectiveness.
Learning Objectives:
Recognize the value and limitations of the RUSLE equation.
Analyze the impact of modifying factors in the equation.
Examine RUSLE2 as an alternative approach for practical application.
