Curtis Barrier International Geosynthetics Group announces the launch of its new business and product, Thessius Wall Seal System. Founder and creator of the Thessius Wall Seal System, Mark Curtis, recognized the need to improve containment structure designs to optimize engineering space thus maximizing storage capacity, minimizing footprint and reducing land usage, costs and emissions.
Patented internationally due to its unique and effective design, Thessius is poised to revolutionize the future of containment structures for liquid and solids for mining, infrastructure, and waste landfill projects. This innovation aims to significantly impact the earth’s future waste and material holding capacities, providing a more sustainable solution for generations to come.
Thessius comprises a polymer embedment sealing profile that is cast into the precast wall panels so that each construction joint provides an impermeable, high strength seal. The precast retaining wall system incorporating the Thessius sealing system does not require internal or external batter slopes and gains significant volumetric capacity without changing the footprint. Alternatively, it maintains the design capacity and significantly reduces the containment structure’s footprint and reduces earthworks, costs, and emissions.
