Republic of Albania’s president visits Maccaferri Balkans’s plant

The president of the Republic of Albania, Bajram Begaj, recently visited Maccaferri’s plant located in Shijak, Albania. He was welcomed by Group CEO Lapo Vivarelli Colonna, and Robert Masha, managing director of Maccaferri Balkans.

The institutional visit was a key opportunity to communicate Maccaferri Balkans’s plans for the future and the group’s commitment to the local market, as well as the initiatives aimed at boosting research and development for high environmental sustainability solutions. After an introduction of the group and the Albanian subsidiary, where the hub’s strategic importance and development plans were underlined, the head of state had the opportunity to visit the showroom area, which displays Maccaferri’s main applications and innovative systems. Finally, Maccaferri’s CEO and Maccaferri Balkans’s managing director showed the president around the premises, highlighting its innovative technologies and presenting Maccaferri’s product range.

The company said in a press release it is honored to welcome Albanian President Bajram Begaj, together with First Lady Armanda Begaj, to the Shijak plant, which aims to become the group’s main production hub for Europe and Middle East, as well as a center of excellence for the development of cutting-edge technologies in line with Industry 4.0 trends. The company said it would also like to thank the mayor of Shijak Elton Arbana, the director of Confindustria Italy in Albania Gerta Bilali, the MP for Durrës Ilir Ndraxhi, and the prefect of Durrës Emiljan Jani, who took part in the visit.
