Titan acquires Hewitt Geosynthetics in Ontario

News | September 13, 2023 | By:

Titan Environmental Containment (Titan) announces that a deal has been reached with John Hewitt, founder of Hewitt Geosynthetics, to acquire the company’s business operations in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). As part of the deal, Titan is absorbing Hewitt’s existing customer base and John Hewitt has joined the team at Titan to help facilitate the transition.

“With over 35 years in the Geosynthetics industry, I’m happy to be easing into retirement by helping to transfer my customers over to Titan,” says John Hewitt. “I take great comfort in the fact that Titan values customer service and relationships as much as we do at Hewitt Geosynthetics. I am confident that my customers will be well served and I’m still available on my mobile during this transition.”

Founded in 2011, Hewitt Geosynthetics (Hewitt) has a long history in the GTA founded on strong customer relationships and top-notch service—an approach that parallels Titan’s corporate culture and business philosophy.

“Mr. Hewitt has built a successful geosynthetics business with an outstanding reputation in the GTA,” says Titan CEO and founder Brett Burkard. “There is clear alignment between the company’s customer-centric approach and the ‘Titan Way’ of doing business, and we look forward to continuing to service Hewitt customers to the standard that they’ve become accustomed to.”

Operating in Canada and in the U.S., Titan Environmental supplies proven geosynthetics and specialty civil engineering construction solutions designed to extend the life of vital infrastructure while protecting precious natural resources.

By pushing limits with creative solutions, the company’s product lines include geomembranes, geotextiles, geogrids, primary and secondary containment systems, stormwater management solutions, drainage solutions, MSE wall and slope systems, and erosion and sediment control products. It services the civil construction, agricultural, waste management, water resources, mining, oil and gas, and hydroelectric industries that support essential infrastructure worldwide.
