The use of geosynthetic materials and techniques can save time and money on road and bridge
construction and maintenance projects. For the next Innovation Exchange webinar, learn how the use
of geotextiles and geofoam, in conjunction with a mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) wall,
improved safety on a three-mile stretch of narrow highway infamous for trucking mishaps in Benewah
County, Idaho.

Also, learn how Geosynthetic Reinforced Soil – Integrated Bridge System (GRS-IBS) technology can
help meet the demand for small, single-span bridges by reducing construction time and cost. GRS-IBS
delivers low-cost, strong and durable structures that can be built in weeks instead of months due
to ease of construction and use of readily available materials and equipment.

Join seasoned project managers Erica Aamodt from the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) and
Randy Albert from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) to hear more about these
innovative solutions. Information about the Federal Highway Administration’s Geosynthetic Mobile
Application will also be provided. For questions, contact Trinette Ballard with FHWA’s Office of Local Aid Support, trinette.ballard@dot.gov
