Trexiana, global manufacturer and distributor of the sustainable geomodular construction material Flex MSE, has announced that Gurchate (Gurch) Sekhon has been appointed CEO. President and former CEO Mike Callewaert, who has led Trexiana since its founding in 2007, will continue as president.

Gurch truly cares about the relationships he nurtures both inside and outside of the company. Sekhon brings more than 30 years of leadership experience, technical knowledge, and business development within the geosynthetic and geo-environmental industries. As vice president of marketing and sales at Nilex Inc., Sekhon participated in the early introduction of geosynthetics to the Canadian market and played a key role in garnering their adoption.
As a senior executive at Nilex Inc., Sekhon managed sales operations and offices across North America. He also oversaw the engineering and technology department, developing stakeholder-specific solutions for owners, engineers and contractors alike. Sekhon received the “Dogged Determination” award from his peers in recognition of his work ethic and performance.

Founded in 2007 and based in the traditional territory of the Coast Salish People, Trexiana seeks to provide environmentally friendly construction solutions that disrupt dependence on environmentally destructive building materials. Trexiana is the global manufacturer of Flex MSE. Flex MSE is a two-part vegetated wall system that adapts and shifts with the land to outlast its hardscape predecessors, including concrete and steel. It is the first EPD-certified geosynthetic system in the world. Flex MSE has been approved by DOT and certification bodies, including BBA (UK) and MTO (Ontario).
