GAI Consultants, Inc. (GAI) has announced that Steven Walls has joined the firm’s Midwest transportation division as Indiana Director of Transportation. Bringing over 30 years of industry experience to GAI, Walls previously held various roles for both the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) and Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). He serves GAI’s clients from the firm’s Indianapolis, Ind. office.
As Indiana Director of Transportation, Walls will utilize his extensive experience and detailed knowledge of INDOT policies and procedures to support GAI’s client satisfaction through implementation of personnel and technical resources needed to meet client budgets, schedules, and project goals. He will also use his vast industry-wide relationships to help expand GAI’s footprint within Indiana.
In his previous role as consultant services manager of the INDOT Crawfordsville District, Walls gained extensive knowledge of state programs, funding, industry resources, and public policy. His experience includes project management of the I-65 Diverging Diamond interchanges at 267/550 in Whitestown, Ind.; the US 52 resurfacing in Carmel, Ind.; the I-69 Section 4 through Bloomington, Ind.; and many other significant projects. He is a Certified Public Manager (CPM) and holds an OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
