2022 IAA geosynthetics project winners announced

The 2022 International Achievement Awards (IAA) winners were announced recently at the IFAI Expo in Charlotte, N.C. The winners were selected based on complexity, design, workmanship, uniqueness and function. “Award of Excellence” and “Outstanding Achievement Award” recipients were showcased at the expo and recognized at a celebration of achievement.

Geosynthetics Project Winners

The Geosynthetic projects category is for projects that use geosynthetic materials in civil engineering applications.

The top winner was Propex receiving the Award of Excellence and Best in Category – Geosynthetic Miscellaneous for Des Moines Riverbank Stabilization – Fabric names Armormax and Scourlok; Fabric Producer – Propex Geosynthetics.

Propex GeoSolutions received the Outstanding Achievement Award for Muscle Shoals Solar Field – Fabric Names Armormax and Pyramat; Fabric Producer – Propex Geosynthetics.

In the area of Mines/Landfills/Wastewater, Solmax received the Award of Excellence for Biogas Cover Waste2Energy; Fabric Name – HDPE Smooth Black; Fabric Producer – Solmax International Inc.

TenCate received the Outstanding Achievement Award for Lake McConaughy Geotextile Tube Shoreline Erosion Protection; Fabric name – TC1200MB Tri Composite Geotextile; Fabric producer – TenCate Geosynthetics.

ATA’s goal with the IAA is to promote awareness of the specialty fabrics used in thousands of products and applications in the rapidly growing, $130 billion-plus global fabrics marketplace. This is an annual competition with a goal to promote awareness of the specialty fabrics used in thousands of products and applications ranging in size and shape.
  
ATA received a total of 200 entries in 42 categories for this year’s competition. Winners were selected based on complexity, design, workmanship, uniqueness and function. Judges included industry experts, editors, architects, educators and design professionals. 
  
The International Achievement Awards competition is sponsored by ATA, a not-for-profit trade association with more than 1,600 member companies representing the international specialty fabrics and technical textiles marketplace.
