Geocomp Corp.’s GeoTesting Express in Acton, Mass., is increasing its focus and investment in quality geotechnical laboratory testing to meet the needs of civil engineers worldwide. A recent expansion of the GeoTesting Express laboratory space and major investments in state-of-the-art automated testing equipment has doubled the laboratory’s footprint and automated testing capabilities, making it one of the largest geotechnical laboratories in the U.S.

“The additional space, machinery, and staff will increase productivity and make GeoTesting Express a force to be reckoned with in the geotechnical laboratory testing world,” says Anna Kotas, P.E., GeoTesting Express technical sales representative for the Atlantic Region.

The now 20,000-square-foot (1,858-m2) laboratory will provide ample space for GeoTesting Express’ staff of 35 dedicated engineers, geologists and technicians, as well as nearly 200 pieces of automated testing equipment to continue to provide quality testing services in a timely manner for the largest of projects.

“At GeoTesting Express, we know that quality testing begins with a highly trained staff and providing them with the best equipment available to succeed,” says Joe Tomei, vice president and director of testing services at GeoTesting Express. “We look forward to the continued growth of our laboratory through undertakings like the recent expansion.”
